Interesting Bird Report from Bird Brain

To: BRDBRAIN <BRDBRAIN@LISTSERV.USF.EDU> Sent: Fri, Nov 20, 2015 10:11 am Subject: [BRDBRAIN] Shorebird Bonanza Plus / CCC Beach

It is presently 10:10AM Friday morning at The Courtney Campbell Causeway Beach in extreme eastern Clearwater in Pinellas County. With the water level reasonably high and overcast skies, there is a super variety of birds in huge numbers everywhere along the shoreline and very few people. My highlights are an amazing 148 Sandwich Terns (a new high count for me), 54 Marbled Godwits, 44 Red Knots, 1 adult Lesser Black-backed Gull, and 6 Bonaparte’s Gulls, just to name a few. In Old Tampa Bay are tens of thousands of Lesser Scaup. Birding at its best. CCC Beach is opposite the intersection of Damascus Road and SR60.   Bob Lane / Clearwater
